Founded over four decades ago, Ratana is well known on the international scene as an outdoor furniture company with a quality selection spanning traditional to contemporary styles. Although Ratana had established showrooms across the U.S. and Asia, they had kept their Vancouver headquarters low-key, and it was time for a facelift.

Interior

Ratana’s home base was a big warehouse, divided into ground floor office space and an upstairs showroom. iDesign's goal was to offer customers an interesting visitor experience while balancing the employees’ need for comfort and functionality. The team curated a colour palette that would highlight Ratana’s products and welcome employees and guests the moment they stepped inside. As the prelude to the main event, the staircase leading up from the front entrance got a makeover. Finally, the team added dimension to the showroom by erecting multiple levels to differentiate the company’s signature residential rattan line from their more durable contract line designed for commercial use and the hospitality industry, and again from Terana, their newest, most modern line. Platforms were also designated for featuring bestselling furniture and a rotating display of hot new products, and a meeting room was set aside to host lunch and learns for designers.
